What do Young Scientists do in the Oregon Homeschool Science Outdoor School?
For three incredible days in August and October, OHSC-OMSI families spend their school days studying with scientists and schooling outdoors.
Fossil Outdoor School. We will head to Eastern Oregon and into the heart of the fossil beds. With science guides we will visit Hancock Field Station to explore fossil and wildlife in the canyons of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Days will be filled with invigorating hikes and activities led by OMSI instructors and evenings with astronomy and fun around the campfire.
Coastal Outdoor School. We will be exploring the Pacific Coast beach in Newport, Oregon with science guides, visit the ocean museums, eat together, sleep in cabin dormitory rooms, enjoy campfire circle, and play large group ocean themed games. Outdoor school is held at the brand new OMSI Coastal Discovery Center in Newport Oregon.
Price is $160 for Outdoor School, lodging, and meals. Transportation is arranged with families. Limited to 60 camper students and adults.
